UPCOMING EXHIBTION

"Dual Currents: A Utopian Longing in an Age of Ecological Destruction”

06-08 SEPTEMBER 2024 198, Hackney Road, E2 7QL

Jenna Tatham is excited to present "Dual Currents: A Utopian Longing in an Age of Ecological Destruction”, an evocative exhibition that delves into the duality of healing through the symbolic language of nature. Through her ‘visions of unity’ Jenna offers a hopeful and imaginative glimpse into what it might look like to heal our inner landscapes and reconnect with the natural world, highlighting the interdependence of individual and collective healing. The exhibition will run from 06/08/24  to 08/08/24 with an opening reception on 06/08/24 at 4 pm-8 pm, held at 198, Hackney Road, E2 7QL.

Through a series of vivid, symbolic drawings and paintings, Jenna Tatham invites viewers to experience the complex, often paradoxical, nature of healing — where growth emerges from decay, and the mind’s intellectual processes exist in tension with the spirit’s more intuitive wisdom.“Recognising my practice as a form of alchemy, I use my canvas as an energetic mirror to the process of inner transmutation, so my artworks are both expressions and invocations of transformation,” says Jenna. "The exhibition challenges us to surrender to the natural ebb and flow of life, recognising that healing requires us to face the shadows as much as the light.”

However, these works go beyond mere personal introspection. By illustrating personal transmutation in the context of nature, the collection underscores a universal truth: individual healing is inherently linked to collective well-being. “I draw my visual language from nature, giving light to the way the patterns and laws governing the cosmos are reflected in miniature within human beings, ” says Jenna. The natural world is a shared environment, and its health reflects the state of our collective psyche. When one person heals, it contributes to the healing of the whole, much like a single tree contributing to the health of an entire forest. This collection challenges viewers to see their transformations not as isolated experiences but as contributions to a broader movement towards collective renewal and harmony with nature. “My art is a statement of faith in the belief that if individuals tend to their internal landscapes, nurturing their gardens so their rivers run clear, then the flourishing microcosms will pollinate the earth's ecosystem and the revival of bloom will surely be on its way.”

WUNDERKAMMER 2024

WUNDERKAMMER

Jenna exposed a pair of oil paintings reflecting the eternal dance of masculine and feminine primordial forces, as part of a group exhibition titled ‘Wundakammer’ , held at Aquaflor Firenze and curated by Alchemist Artist Polina Stepanova. Informed by ‘The Art’ in the Alchemist Toth Tarot deck, which dipitcs greatest challenge for the Alchemist, the amalgamation of Fire and Water, reaching a state of unity through the assimilation of equal and opposite elements. Suri is an ancient pagan solar deity, a chthonic god of the Sun, volcanoes and fire, he rises from the underworld to reign in harmony with the Luna goddess Catha, the ruler of the tides. This pair of paintings is symbolic of dynamic transformation towards a state of perfect equilibrium,  harmony,  and unity beyond duality. Inspired by the perfume Aoud Oman. January 9th - February 15th 2024.

WHEN THE STREAM WALKS ON THE SHORE 2023

WHEN THE STREAM WALKS ON THE SHORE 2023

Jenna's first solo exhibition titled 'When The Stream Walks On The Shore' took place in July of 2023 at Laboratorio 13 Il Conventino, in Florence.  She exposed a collection of paintings which explored the concept of emanationism through the element of water. Working in a process of clarifying her experiences through poetry and illustration, then materialising these ideas through paint.

When the river flows through you

Ripples through your blood and over your skin,

And the light shines bright across your face,

Gleaming droplets of your body,

Go floating by,

Downstream.
