This painting is a Contemporary expression of the Two of Cup’s interpretation by Dali. Which references ‘The Greek myth as related by the Roman Apuleius in his work The Golden Ass, telling the story of how the human Psyche and the divine Cupid longed for each other and how after many trials, they were finally united.’ The card is symbolic of the duality of desire, for repulsion is just the other side of attraction and antipathy can easily transform into sympathy. Reflecting the need to clarify ambiguous feelings and bring unconscious desire into consciousness.
